Alice F. Crane Obituary (1912

In Loving Memory OfAlice F. CraneAlice F. Crane was born August 21, 1912 near Friend, Saline County, Nebraska and died Thursday, May 11, 2006, at the Friend Manor at the age of 93 years, 8 months and 20 days. Alice was the youngest of 12 children born to Frank & Cora Mae (Howell) Heinzman, Sr. She attended school in Friend and graduated with the class of 1931. She was united in marriage to Stephen Johnson, Sr and to this union a son, Stephen Jr. and a daughter, Norma were born. Alice spent several years caring for her mother in her home. Alice later was employed with Warren Memorial Hospital and the Friend Annex, as it was known before it became the Friend Manor. Alice loved flowers and had an exceptional green thumb, and willingly shared her blossoms with others. She also loved her cats and over the years they gave her much pleasure. In he youth, Alice accepted the Lord as Savior and often spoke of her desire of Heaven and to see loved ones. In 1964, Alice was united in marriage to Clark Crane in York; however this marriage was brief, as he died about a year later. She was a very independent lady and was an excellent caregiver for her mother and later her brother, Clark. Alice had a great garden and in her spare time enjoyed piecing together a lot of quilts. Alice was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Clark, infant sister, Gladys Heinzman, sisters, Olive Nelson, Ruth O'Dea, Margaret Willis, Mabel Sasek, and Hazel Lincoln, brothers, Frank, Jr, Mark, John, Merle & Clark Heinzman, a great-granddaughter, Katherine Anne Flagg in 1990, and a son-in-law, Harold Stutzman. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, 5/15/06, Lauber-Moore Funeral Home, Friend, Pastor Jerry Gill. Interment, Ellison/Monroe Cemetery, rural Friend. Visitation is 2-9:00 p.m. Sunday, with family receiving friends, 7-9:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Pallbearers, Mark, Harvey, David, Jack Stutzman, Chris Wells, Brad Stauffer. Memorials established and directed in care of the family.
