Audrey Anna Rardin KleinholzAudrey Anna Kleinholz, of Leavenworth, KS, formerly of Friend and Dorchester, died November 1, 2003, at Midwest Homeplace in Leavenworth, KS, at the age of 82 years 11 months and 21 days. She was born November 11, 1920 to James F. and Annie Pavlish Rardin at their family home south of Dorchester, Nebraska, the fourth of six children born. Audrey attended country school and Dorchester High School graduating with the Class of 1938. She taught rural school for three years before her marriage to Frederick W. Kleinholz of Dorchester, Nebraska on May 21, 1941, at the Methodist Church in Dorchester. Three daughters, Lana, Beverly and Sandra were born to this marriage. Audrey was blessed with a second marriage to Theodore G. Kleinholz of West, Texas on September 7, 1991, in the Friend United Methodist Church. Audrey joined the Methodist Episcopal Church in Dorchester in 1936 where she taught Sunday school in Dorchester for many years. Later Audrey became a member of the United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women in Friend. In 1970 Frederick and Audrey purchased Friend Floral and after 9 years she retired due to ill health. Audrey loved to work with her hands, growing flowers, sewing, crocheting, knitting and making quilts.She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Roy Davis, Leavenworth, Kansas, stepchildren and spouses Conrad and Sharon Kleinholz of Stillwater, OK, Chris and John Dorgan, Smithville, Texas; 4 grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and 3 step-great-grandchildren, sister and brother-in-law, Ethel and Keith Crump, Lincoln, sisters-in-law, Letha Rardin, Milford, Lucille Rardin, Dallas, TX, and Fern Horan, Friend, brothers-in-law, Marvin Lukenbach, Longmont, CO, Leonard Leach and his wife Wilma, Las Cruces, NM, numerous nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.Audrey was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, Fred and Ted, daughters, Beverly and Lana, brothers, Kenneth and Richard Rardin, sisters Virginia Leach and Edith Lukenbach.A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 5, 2003, at the United Methodist Church in Friend with Rev. Tess Hufford officiating. Interment will be in the Dorchester Cemetery, Dorchester, NE. Visitation will be from 9-9 on Tuesday at Lauber-Moore Funeral Home and one hour before services at the church on Wednesday. Memorials may be given to the Friend United Methodist Church, American Heart Association or Diabetic Foundation.
