Catherine R. Findley Obituary (1913

In Loving Memory OfCatherine R. Findley Catherine Rita (Farmer) Findley, of Lincoln, formerly of Beaver Crossing, died Monday, October 6, 2003, at Lakeview Nursing Home in Firth, Nebraska at the age of 90 years, 7 months and 11 days. She was born February 25, 1913, on a farm near Waco, Nebraska to William P. & Jeanne (Girard) Farmer. As a young girl she attended a country school near Gresham. On August 30, 1941, she was united in marriage in York, Nebraska to Kenneth S. Findley and to this union five sons and three daughters were born. Catherine enjoyed being a mother to her children and was a busy homemaker. She enjoyed baking and sewing and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was always there for her family when needed. As the children grew older, Catherine worked as a nurses assistant at Seward Memorial Hospital and later with Bryan and St Elizabeth Hospitals in Lincoln. Survivors include her children and spouses, Patricia Twomey, Pamela & Christopher Kidwell, all of Lincoln, Terri & Steven Runnings, Arvada, CO, Thomas & Marlene Findley, James & Sally Findley, all of Omaha, Robert & Kathy Findley, Lincoln, K. Scott & Winnie Findley, Hong Kong, China, Richard & Erin Findley of Prairie Village, KS, 23 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, a sister, Mary Miller, Beaver Crossing, sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Farmer and Wanda Farmer, both of Wichita, KS, many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other relatives and friends. Catherine was preceded in death by her parents, William & Jeanne Farmer, her husband, Kenneth in 1998, a grandson, Luke Paul Findley, sisters, Lucie Rolenc, Mattie Harter & Blanche Davis, and brothers, Billie, Joseph & Paul Farmer. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 10, 2003, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Beaver Crossing, with Fr Mike Harter officiating. Following the funeral luncheon, the interment will be at Seward Cemetery. A rosary will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Visitation is Thursday from 10 to 5 p.m. at Lauber-Moore Funeral Home, Beaver Crossing and from 6-8:00 p.m. at the church and 1 hour prior to services on Friday. Pallbearers are Mike, Paul, Adam, Jason and Charlie Findley, Gabe Kidwell, Rudy & Phillip Runnings. Honorary Pallbearers are John & Nathan Findley. Memorials have been established to the Lakeview Nursing Home in Firth. Lauber-Moore Funeral Home, Beaver Crossing, is in charge of arrangements.
