In Memory OfDaniel L. WilliamsDaniel Lee Williams, of Lincoln, died Tuesday, October 2, 2007 at the Warren Memorial Hospital in Friend, at the age of 54 years, 7 months, and 1 day. He was born on March 1, 1953 in Friend, Nebraska to Oris and Phyllis (Rumler) Williams, the youngest of two children. Dan attended Friend Public Schools and graduated with the class of 1971. Dan furthered his education in Lincoln at Nebraska Wesleyan University with a bachelor degree in Business Administration. In 1987, Dan was united in marriage to Rebecca Martin and they were married for 19 years.Daniel was a head golf professional, managed golf courses and taught many people the pleasure of golf. During his lifetime, he worked at Mahoney Golf Course (1978-1993) and Highlands Golf Course (1993-2003) both in Lincoln. Dan was a lifetime member of PGA and was also a member of St. Marks United Methodist Church, Lincoln. .Dan is survived by his father, Oris Williams, Friend, sister, Linda Free, Lincoln, nephew Shane Rodie and wife Jeanie, Hoisington, KS, nieces, April Dixon and husband Michael, Lincoln, Amber Crouse and husband Norman, Lincoln, great-niece and nephews, Stormy Crisman, Reason Crisman, Alex Crouse, Kinison Crisman and Talon Crouse.Dan was preceded in death by his mother, Phyllis Williams, his dog Chessie, his oldest friend of 16 years.A Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 6, 2007 at Blue Mound Cemetery, Milford with Rev. Jay Funk officiating. Cremation, no viewing, book available for signing Friday, October 5, 2007, Lauber-Moore Funeral Home, Friend. Memorials have been established and are directed in care of the family. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Lauber-Moore Funeral Home, Friend.
