In Memory OfDeElda Hershberger Services will be held at the Bellwood Mennonite Church, 520 B Street, Milford, on Sunday, March 16 at 2:00 pm with burial in the Milford Mennonite Cemetery following the service. Rev. Dave Miller will officiate. Visitation and viewing will be on Saturday, March 15 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Lauber-Moore Funeral Home in Milford, with the family receiving visitors on Saturday evening from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Bellwood Mennonite Church. Memorials will be designated to the Nebraska Mennonite Relief Sale. Contributions may be sent to the Bellwood Mennonite Church, 520 B Street, Milford, NE 68405, with a notation for the relief sale.DeElda Hershberger, 95, of Milford, died on Wednesday, March 12, 2014 in Seward, Nebraska. DeElda was a long time resident of Milford, but moved to Heartland Senior Retirement Living Center in Seward two years ago. As a believer in Jesus Christ, DeElda is now experiencing the joys of heaven and a reunion with the saints, without the limitations of a physical body slowed by age. She was a member of the Bellwood Mennonite Church for over fifty years.She was baptized at the Milford Mennonite Church in 1929, and graduated from Milford High School in 1935. DeElda was a homemaker who hosted many visitors in her home for meals and fellowship. She was an accomplished quilter, an active member of the Women's Missionary and Service Commission at Bellwood Church, and a member of the Blue Valley Quilt Guild in Seward. Her many contributions of handmade quilts to the Mennonite Relief Sales supported world mission activities. DeElda worked as a real estate agent with Hershberger Real Estate, serving Milford and the surrounding area. She was born March 25, 1918 on a farm near Milford, Nebraska to Warren and Anna (Kremer) Eicher, the third of five children. She married Edgar A. Hershberger on December 25, 1938 and they were married nearly 74 years. She is survived by sons Gordon of Syracuse, NY, Gregory (Catherine) of Lincoln, NE, and Ray (Rosemary) of Columbus, OH; five grandchildren, Heidi (Dave) Kovarik of Syracuse, NY, Amy (Paul) Monsour of Pasadena, CA, Jonathan (Roopal) Hershberger of Tampa, FL, Emily (Brian) Bolton of Harrisonburg, VA, and Lisl Hershberger of Boston, MA; two step grandchildren, Karen (Rob) Beatty of Phoenix, AZ, and Jeff Hoffman of Tampa, FL; seven great-grandchildren, three step-great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Verba (Merle) Eicher, Lillian (Lawrence) Beckler, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Lola Jantze and Lela Hershberger; two brothers, Merle and Ben; a daughter-in-law, Kathleen Hoffman Hershberger; a grand-daughter, Rosanna Hershberger; and a step-great-grandson, Matthew Beatty.
