Estella D. Oxley Obituary (1915

Estella Delphina Oxley was born September 23, 1915, in Lincoln, Nebraska to Eugene & Laura (Meistrell) Sullivan, the oldest of six children and passed away in Lincoln on Saturday, November 20, 2010, from suffering a stroke at her home at the age of 95. As a young girl, she attended school in Denton and later furthered her education becoming a licensed hair stylist. On October 5, 1936, she was united in marriage to Glenn Oxley in Denton and to this union a son, Stephen and a daughter, Mary Jo, were born. Estella operated, "Stella's Beauty Shop" in her home in Pleasant Dale and was still fixing hair into her 90's. Stella enjoyed playing cards and attending estate sales and loved to visit with anyone. Stella had a zest for life and a deep faith. She was a member of the St Mary's Catholic Church of Denton. Survivors include her son, Stephen "Steve", Hawthorne, CA; daughter and son-in-law, Mary Jo and Terry Warren, Ashland; two grandchildren, Trevor Warren and his wife Sarah, of Greenwood, and Matt Warren, Omaha; two great-grandsons, Lloyd and Luke Warren, both of Greenwood; a sister, Teresa and Don Sullivan, Lincoln, many nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Stella was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Glenn in 1995, sisters, Edna Borgman, Dottie Culp, Bertha Sullivan and a brother, Raymond Sullivan. Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 23, 2010, at St Mary's Catholic Church, Denton, with Msg Huber officiating. A Rosary will be held at 9:30 a.m. Tueday prior to the funeral mass. Interment is in Pleasant Dale Cemetery. Visitation is Monday from 2-9:00 p.m. at Lauber-Moore Funeral Home, Milford, and 1 hour prior to the services at the church. Memorials may be directed to the donor's choice. Lauber-Moore Funeral Home, Milford, is entrusted with the care and arrangements.
