Ina Lucille Rediger
March 5, 1931 - November 7, 2025
Ina Lucille Rediger was born on March 5th, 1931 on a farm near Milford, Nebraska, to Elmer and Elsie (Stutzman) Earnest. She was the second of five children, and she thought herself fortunate to grow up enjoying farm life. As a young girl she attended District #47 country school through the 8th grade at which time she stayed at home to work with her parents on the farm. In her youth she accepted Christ as her personal savior and was baptized at East Fairview Mennonite Church.
On September 6, 1949, Ina was united in marriage to Ferman Rediger in Wayland, Iowa. They started their life together and to this union their three children, Lynette, Earnest, and Gretta were born. After a short time in Milford, they made their home in Dorchester in August of 1951. Once their children were grown, Ina worked as a ward secretary at the Crete Hospital, then for Dr. Travnicek as an assistant. Ina later worked in the dietary departments at Warren Memorial Hospital in Friend and at Rivendell near Seward, where her well-known cooking talents were a blessing to many.
Ina’s life was marked by quiet but determined strength, enduring faith, and a deep love for her family. Her hands were rarely still as she was blessed with many gifts. Ina found joy in her bountiful gardens, her skilled sewing, and the satisfaction of nurturing those she loved. Nothing brought Ina greater joy than her grandchildren, who were truly the light of her life.
Ina is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Lynette Rediger of Crete, and Gretta and Mark Stutzman of Friend; grandchildren and their spouses, Amanda and Ross Ricenbaw of Lincoln, Shane and Jennifer Stutzman of Friend, Holly and Brandon Borchers of Utica, and Danielle Rediger of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and great-grandchildren Alexa Ricenbaw, Royce Ricenbaw, Charlee Stutzman, Barrett Borchers, Bentley Ricenbaw, Everly Borchers, Sawyer Stuzman, and Aston Ricenbaw. She is also survived by her brother, Ronald Earnest and friend Diane; as well as many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ferman, son Earnest, her parents, her sisters Arlene Kremer and Ruth Leichty, and her brother Donald Earnest.
