In Loving Memory of John O. WesselJohn Owen Wessel, of Lincoln, passed away Thursday, December 2, 2010, at Crestview Care Center in Milford at the age of 62 years, 3 months and 25 days. He was born August 7, 1948, near Omaha, Nebraska to Charles and Mildred (Edmund) Wessel. John later attended Boys Town and graduated from Boys Town High School in 1966. John loved to visit with everyone he could and was an avid reader, reading books and newspapers and enjoyed fishing, especially at Holmes Lake in Lincoln. He also loved spending time on his computer whenever he could. John was a handyman over the years, and would often fix or repair problems that neighbors or friends would have. Survivors include his sister and brother-in-law, Ada Ellen and Ralph Chappell, Midway, AR, brothers, Vernon Wessel, Lincoln, Charles Wessel Jr., El Paso, TX, several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends, including Marilyn Watkins and George Kasseris, both of Lincoln. John is preceded in death by his parents and brother, LeRoy Wessel. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, December 7, 2010, at Lauber-Moore Funeral Home, Milford with Rev. Jerry Scheffler officiating. No visitation. Cremation. Memorials may be directed in care of the family.
