Letha L Rardin Obituary (1924

In Loving Memory Of Letha L. Rardin A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, November 3, 2015, at Grace Missionary Church, Milford, with Pastor Andrew Petro and Pastor Bryan Conrad officiating. Interment will be in Blue Mound Cemetery prior to service. Visitation will be on Monday 1-5 pm at Lauber-Moore Funeral Home, Milford with the family receiving relatives and friends from 6-8 pm at Grace Missionary Church. Memorials have been established to the church, Cedars Home for Children or to the Gideons. Letha Loraine Rardin was born June 20, 1924, on a farm south of Dorchester, Nebraska, to William and Edna (Britton) Sanburn, the oldest of four children, and passed away on Thursday, October 29, 2015, at Memorial Hospital in Seward, Nebraska at the age of 91 years, 4 months and 9 days. As a young girl, her family moved into town and she graduated from Dorchester Public School with the class of 1942. Following graduation she was employed with Citizen's State Bank in Dorchester. It is here where she met Richard Rardin and they were married after his discharge from the Army/Air Force on June 13, 1946, at the Methodist Church in Dorchester. To this union two children were born, Carla and Richard, Jr. Together they farmed south of Dorchester until 1959, when they moved into town. During this time, Letha was a busy homemaker and mother. Letha's faith was very important to her and along with Richard helped to start the "United Missionary Church" in Dorchester. After that church closed in 1967, she transferred her membership to Grace Missionary Church in Milford. Letha was so grateful that God enabled her to serve Him in so many different ways. In 1970, she and Richard moved into Milford and she began a career as bookkeeper for Rediger Chevrolet, retiring in 1995. Letha was a very accomplished musician and was able to play by ear and memory. She taught several students and was organist for her churches until she was in her late 80's. She also served as the pianist for more than 20 years at Sunrise Country Manor. Even while she was a resident at Crestview, she continued to play at the nursing home. She is survived by her daughter, Carla Rardin and special friend Dwight Roth, son and daughter-in-law, Rich and Pennie Rardin, all of Milford; two grandchildren, Jill and Robert "Bo" Hain, Raymond, Jeff Rardin, Lincoln; two great-grandchildren, Haley and Greg Hain, sisters-in-law, Lucille Rardin, Dallas, TX, Elaine Sanburn, Crete, brother-in-law, Leonard Leach, Ft. Collins, CO; many nieces, nephews and host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Richard Rardin, Sr in 1981, sisters and brothers-in-law, Ruth and Percy Stutzman, Erma and Roland Stofer, brother, Ed Sanburn, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Kenneth Rardin, Virginia Leach, Audrey and Frederick Kleinholz, Edith and Marvin Lukenbach, Ethel and Keith Crump.
