Margery A. "Marge" Hill Obituary (1922

Funeral Services are 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 9, 2012, at Pleasant Dale United Methodist Church, with Pastor Rod Lyon officiating. Interment is in Pleasant Dale Cemetery. Luncheon following at American Legion Hall. Visitation Sunday, 1-8:00 p.m. at Lauber-Moore Funeral Home, Milford, and 1 hour prior to services at church. Memorials established to the United Methodist Church or to the Blue River Chapter #132, Order of the Eastern Star. Pallbearers are: Rodney Hill, William Hill, Jim Reed, Travis Kraus, Douglas Hill, and David Hill. Honorary Pallbearers are all her grandchildren. Margery "Marge" Alice Hill was born January 19, 1922, in Auburn, Nebraska to Arthur and Alice (Edwards) Simpson, the 10th of 11 children, and passed away Thursday, July 5, 2012, at Crestview Care Center in Milford at the age of 90 years, 5 months and 16 days. Margery attended Auburn Public Schools, graduating with the class of 1940. On August 3, 1940, Margery was united in marriage to Herbert Hill in Marysville, MO, and to this union eight children were born. Marge stayed home to raise her family until her two youngest children were in high school, she then went to work at the Hill Hatchery. She also worked at JC Penney, the University of Nebraska and retired from the Farmers Mutual Insurance Company. She was very active in her small church, the United Methodist Church, serving in many capacities her entire life. She also was a member of the Blue River Chapter #132, Order of the Eastern Star, where she served as past worthy matron, and was active with the grand chapter. In her retirement, Marge enjoyed sewing and traveling extensively throughout the US, Europe, Canada and the Caribbean. Survivors include her daughters and son-in-law, Mary Gellinger, Pleasant Dale, Sandra and Dwayne Reed of Malcolm, Pam Kraus of Lincoln, sons and daughters-in-law, Dennis "Jake" and Patty Hill, Pleasant Dale, Marvin Hill, Milford, Steve and Vickie Hill, Pleasant Dale, Herbert, Jr. and Becky Hill of Lincoln; 18 grandchildren, many great and great-great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Eula Smith, Polo, MO, Lydia Hill, Shenandoah, IA, Donna Jean Thacker, St. Joseph, MO, Kathryn Hill, Rockport, MO, many nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Marge was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Herbert; son, William "Billy", a great-great grandson, Carter Vetter, 3 infant siblings, brothers, Gerald and Frank Simpson, sisters, Thelma Golyer, Lela Case, Mary Brown, Lucille Trail, and Leone Rogge.
