Marilyn Hammond

Marilyn Maude Hammond, was born on the 10th of April, 1939, in Sutton, Nebraska, to Kenneth and Eleanor (Gallettly) Fisher and departed from us on the 14th of January, 2026. She resided in York, Nebraska. Marilyn lived a life of rich experiences, her full-time job being a loving mother, a caring grandmother, and a cherished great-great-grandmother.

Avid in her hobbies, Marilyn found solace and joy in reading, crocheting Afghan quilts, playing dominoes, and cheering on her beloved Huskers.

She is survived by her daughters Carol Hammond (Thomas Coffey), Cheryl Hammond Whitaker (Bill Whitaker), Pamela Hughes (Dr. LW) Hughes, Amy (Dr. Lee) Larsen; grandchildren Lacy Holroyd (Leo Ramirez), Lindsay Holroyd, Lesley Holroyd (Lucino Ventura), Devin (TJ) Jonek, Keisha McAllister Tran (Le Tran), Rowdy McAllister (Abby Erikson), Lexi McAllister Ponce (Santino Ponce), Danielle Whitaker, Billy Jo Whitaker, Calvin Johnson, Travis Betka (Karina), Tracy Betka Renz (Jock), Seve Longoria (Venessa Portillo), Cody Larsen (Natalie Larsen), Chase Larsen (Morgan Lausten), and Chance Larsen; Great-grand children, Lucas Ramirez, Zeniyah Holroyd, Sienna Ventura, Levi (Jessica) Coffey, September Coffey, Brooklyn Coffey, Sailor Tran, Leah Tran, Lorenzo Ponce, Saige Ponce, Sophia Ponce, Jessica Conrad, Kolton Betka, Kaitlyn Betka, ShyAnn Farris (Jake Farris), Baylee Renz Oakman (Caleb Oakman), Jace Renz (Bailee Renz), Treyvn Renz, Jakyia Renz, and Paisley West Longoria, and Her great-great granddaughter, Aria Oakman.

She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Hammond, infant son Scott Hammond, parents Kenneth and Eleanor Fisher, parents-in-law Marion and Myrtle Hammond, sisters Corrine Wolfe and Charlene Tucker, brothers-in-law Lowell Hammond, Jim Hammond, Don Wolfe, and Gene Tucker.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, January 23, 2026, at 2:00pm CST at the Methodist Church, Exeter, Nebraska, 68351. The Celebration of Life Service will be livestreamed. Please go to the Lauber Funeral and Cremation Services Facebook site ten minutes prior to the service to tune in. You may need to follow our Facebook page to be able to view the livestream. Following this, a Graveside Service will be conducted at the Sutton Cemetery, Sutton, Nebraska, 68979, on the same day at 4:30pm CST.

Memorials are suggested to the family for a future designation.
