Martin Jantze

Martin Duan Jantze, widely known as Marty, a devoted father and a committed member of the Milford community was born on March 15, 1963, in Seward, Nebraska, to Maurice and Alberta (Dewitt) Jantze, and passed away Sunday, July 20, 2025, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, at the age of 62.

Marty spent much of his life in Milford, Nebraska, where he attended Milford Public Schools and graduated with the class of 1982. He carved out a reputation as a compassionate man who always placed family and his passion for weightlifting at the forefront. He was a longtime employee as a meat cutter at the Milford Supermarket, and later at B&R stores in Lincoln where he demonstrated an inspiring work ethic that endeared him to colleagues and customers alike. Marty’s dedication was not only evident in his work but also in his hobbies. He was a passionate weightlifter, often seen giving advice to others, and even placed 2nd in a Beach Body competition, a testament to his commitment and discipline.

Marty is survived by his loving daughters, Amanda and Kimberly Jantze, both from Milford, NE; sisters Vickie (Myron) Reiss, Council Bluffs, IA, Christy (Arlin) Scherbarth, Gordon, NE; Maurice "Butch" (Nancy) Jantze, Milford, NE; his father-in-law Allen Hormandl Sr, Wilber, NE; brothers and sisters-in-law: Curtis (Gail) Hormandl, Wilber, NE, Lori (Bruce) Pomajzl, Crete, NE, Chere (Renald) Jones, Lincoln, NE, Jane (Mark) Crawford, DeWitt, NE, Allen Jr. (Brooke) Hormandl, Wilber, NE; a host of Aunts, Uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends; God children: Boen, Tobias, Keenan, Araiya, and Archer; children of special family friends Dan and Jessie Schweitzer, all of Milford, NE.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Maurice and Alberta Jantze; wife Noreen Jantze; and daughter Ashley Jantze.

His legacy will be remembered through his inspiring dedication, his supportive nature, and his compassionate heart.

Family and friends are invited to gather in memory of Marty on Friday, July 25, 2025, at 12:00pm CDT, at the Beth-El Community Church, 115 North F Street, Milford, Nebraska, 68405. The memorial service will commence at 2:00pm CDT at the same venue. This event will be livestreamed via Facebook. Please go to the Lauber Funeral and Cremation Services Facebook site ten minutes prior to the service to tune in. The graveside service will follow at the Blue Mound Cemetery in Milford, NE; at 3:00pm CDT.
