Mary Ann Sehnert

Mary Ann Sehnert, of Seward, formerly of Dorchester, passed away on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at Ridgewood Care Center in Seward at the age of 80 years, 11 months and 21 days. She was born May 26, 1936 in Lincoln, Nebraska to Amos and Mary Iola (O'Brien) Jirsa, their only child. As a young girl she attended Dorchester Public School and graduated with the class of 1954. On October 15, 1954, Mary Ann was united in marriage to Ronald David Sehnert at the Friend Methodist Church.Mary Ann began her employment as a clerk in a bank and later was the bookkeeper for Guggenmoss Investment Company, Dorchester, retiring after 18 years. In her spare time, she enjoyed various crafts, including cross stitch and painting Ron's wood intarsia projects. Mary Ann also enjoyed going ice fishing with Ron.Mary Ann is survived by her husband, Ronald, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Marlene and Harry Axline, Dorchester, Jane Hopper, Omaha, Jerry and Geraldine Sehnert, Dorchester.Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents.A Graveside Service was held at Dorchester Cemetery, Dorchester. Memorials have been established to the Dorchester Volunteer Fire Department. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Lauber-Moore Funeral Home, Milford.
