Myron Dean Piening Obituary (1944

In Memory OfMyron D. Piening Myron Dean Piening, of Omaha, died peacefully in his sleep Wednesday, November 9, 2005, at his home at the age of 60 years, 11 months and 22 days. He was born December 18, 1944 in Seward, Nebraska to Vernon and Alvina (Zwick) Piening, the oldest of four children. As a young boy he enjoyed helping his dad on the farm. Myron attended University High School in Lincoln, graduating with the class of 1963 and furthered his education by attending Milford Tech School where he studied electronics. He enlisted in the Marines and was a member of the Marine Reserves. Myron was employed as Deputy Fire Marshall for the State of Nebraska for several years and then worked until his death as a Security Systems Engineer for several companies. He was a very loving, devoted husband, a wonderful father and grandfather and in his earlier years enjoyed playing golf. Myron's special passion was spending time with his grandchildren. Each spring Myron and Becky spent time at the Ozarks enjoying friends and fishing. Myron enjoyed sitting and listening to others and always learning from everyone. Myron was blessed with a second marriage on March 10, 1995 in Las Vegas, NV to Becky Hise who enjoyed taking care of him and spending time with all their children and grand children. Myron is survived by his wife, Becky Piening, Omaha, children, Calley Laursen, Omaha, Cary Piening, Darren Korb, all of Lincoln, Lori Graff, Goehner, step-children, John Awtry, Grand Island, Dianna Awtry, Omaha, Holly Anderson and her husband Grant, Plattsmouth, 17 grandchildren, parents, Vernon and Alvina Piening, Pleasant Dale, brothers and sisters-in-law, Ron and Marcia Piening, Stuart and Vicki Piening, sister and brother-in-law, Ila and Dale Matthes, all of Pleasant Dale, nieces and nephews, He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Henry and Louise Piening, Ferd and Clara Zwick. A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 14, 2005 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Pleasant Dale. Visitation is Sunday, 5-9 pm and Monday, 9-noon at Lauber-Moore Funeral Home, Milford, and one hour before services at the church.
