Nina Marie Stutzman was born October 14, 1915 on a farm near Milford, Nebraska to David and Emma (Jausi) Stutzman, the 2nd of 12 children and went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, January 27, 2015, at Crestview Care Center in Milford at the age of 99 years. At a young age, she moved with her family to Cairo, Nebraska where she attended country school. As a teenager Nina accepted Jesus as her Lord and Saviour and was baptized into the family of God at the Wood River Mennonite Church. In 1941, Nina became a member of the East Fairview Mennonite Church where she was a faithful and loving member. Nina was a busy daughter, helping her parents and especially her mother with housework and the care of her younger siblings. Later she moved to Lincoln where she was a housekeeper. Nina was united in marriage to Ervin Stutzman on March 2, 1941 at Wood River Mennonite Church and to this union three children were born, Joan, Karen and Michael.
Together they made their home in the Milford area and wintered for many years in Sun City, AZ where they enjoyed fellowshipping with many of their friends and relatives. Nina enjoyed company, was an excellent cook and along with Ervin, they provided summer care for children from the Kansas City Children's home. They also spent time working at a children's home in Texas. She was a very hospitable person who loved to have guests in her home, especially her children and grandchildren and her brothers and sisters, as well as her extended family. Nina enjoyed volunteering her time and talents for events that helped others. In her spare time she enjoyed quilting, cross stitching and cooking. Nina especially enjoyed working out in her flower garden.
