Patricia "Pat" M Wergin Obituary (1926

In Memory Of Patricia M. Wergin A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at the Milford United Methodist Church with Rev. Jeff Kelley officiating. Interment will be in Blue Mound Cemetery, Milford. Visitation will be from 1-9 pm on Monday, at Lauber-Moore Funeral Home, Milford with family receiving relatives and friends 6-8 at funeral home. Memorials have been established to the Harold and Patricia Wergin scholarship fund in care of Milford Public Schools. Patricia Mae Wergin, of Milford, was born February 5, 1926 at Centerville, IA to Bernard and Eula (Anderson) Terhune, the youngest of three children and passed away Saturday, April 25, 2015 at Crestview Care Center at the age of 89 years 2 months and 20 days. As a young girl, she attended school in Craig, Missouri and graduated from Lincoln High School in Lincoln with the class of 1942. She furthered her education at University of Nebraska, graduating in 1946. Pat was united in marriage to Harold Herman Wergin on June 15, 1946 at the Tabitha Christian Church in Lincoln and to this union five sons, Charles, Robert, Richard, Ronald and Jack were born. Together they made their home at the Lincoln Air Base and later moved to Milford in 1958. Pat was a busy mother and enjoyed teaching school at Elmwood and later substituting at Milford Public Schools. She also served as an aide in Congressman Doug Berueter's Lincoln office working on specific programs and cases that were brought to their attention. She was a member of the Milford United Methodist Church and the American Legion Auxiliary Unit #171. In her spare time, she enjoyed participating in bowling leagues, playing card games and writing poetry. She also played the piano and organ. Pat was very witty, always had a great come-back in conversations and enjoyed spending time with her family. She was known for her brownies, chocolate cakes, chocolate chip cookies. She is survived by her sons and spouses, Chuck and Connie Wergin, Milford, Dr. Robert Wergin and Brenda Bacon, Lincoln, Rich and Kelly Wergin, Seward, Ron and Tami Wergin, Lincoln, Jack and Allison Wergin, Aurora, 14 grandchildren, Brandon, Krista, Hunter, Brett, Bryce, Rachel, Marissa, Ashley, Drew, Sydney, Paige and Vanessa Wergin, Briane and Alicia Bacon; 1 great-granddaughter, Shiloh Long, nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Harold in 1996, brothers and sister-in-law, Robert and Willa "Ann" Terhune and Leland Terhune, several other in-laws including, Ruth and Keith Markle, Alice and Orville Springer, Edna and Ed Varner, Melvin and Louise Wergin.
