Ronald K. Bell

Ronald Keith Bell was born on January 8, 1949 at Nebraska City, Nebraska to Kenneth and Faye (Smith) Bell, the middle child of three children and passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, February 27, 2012 in Milford, Nebraska at the age of 63 years 1 month and 19 days. As a young boy he attended grade school near Nebraska City and graduated with the class of 1967 from Milford High School. Ron was united in marriage to Janice VanAndel on December 19, 1969 in Pleasant Dale, Nebraska and to this union three daughters, Stacie, Natalie and Julie were born.
Together they made their home in Milford where Ron was a self-employed contractor for 20 years and he was also a rural mail carrier for 25 years. Ron was a member of the United Methodist Church in Milford and served as a member of the Milford Volunteer Fire Department for 25 years. His family and grandchildren were very important to Ron and he enjoyed attending sporting events and especially Husker football. He also enjoyed fishing. In later life, Ron developed his ability to cook and enjoyed hunting for new recipes to share with family and friends. Ron was a very kind and generous man and a wonderful role model for his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed doing special things for anyone in need.
He is survived by his wife, Janice, daughters and sons-in-law, Stacie and Jason Roth, Natalie and Kendall NItzsche and Julie and Chad Brehmer, seven grandchildren, Briana and Brennan Roth, Kassie, Janae and Chase Nitzsche, Camryn and Colton Brehmer; mother, Faye Bell, all of Milford, brothers and sisters-in-law, Roger and Patricia Bell, Lincoln, Rick and Karla Bell, Milford, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Marie and Gary Brhel, Pleasant Dale, Rex and Marcia VanAndel, Milford, Ron and Mary VanAndel, Pleasant Dale, special friends, Don and Gloria Schneider and Bill and Ginny Backes, Milford; nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Bell.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 1, 2012 at Milford United Methodist Church with Pastors Michael Curd and Tim Springer officiating. Private graveside prior to service, Pleasant Dale Cemetery.
Register book available for signing Wednesday 9 am - 5pm at Lauber-Moore Funeral Home, Milford with family greeting relatives and friends 6-8pm at the Milford United Methodist Church. Ron requested that memorials be used for his grandchildren's education or may be directed to the Milford VFD or the church.
