Wyone "Tim" E Ferguson Obituary (1915

In Loving Memory Of Wyone "Tim" E. Ferguson A Memorial Service will be held 10:30 a.m. on Monday, February 11, 2013 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Friend with Fr. David Bourek officiating. Rosary will be at 9:30 a.m. before the Mass at the church. Inurnment at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Friend. No visitation, cremation Memorials are directed in care of the family. Wyone "Tim" Estelle Ferguson was born in Cando, North Dakota on July 24, 1915 to Charley H. and Lillian (Patton) Pierce, the second of six children and passed away on Thursday, January 24, 2013 at the Garden Square in Crete, Nebraska at the age of 97 years and 4 months. As a young girl she attended school through the 11th grade in Cando before moving to Beaver Crossing, Nebraska with her family in 1932. She was united in marriage to Donald Ferguson on November 6, 1940 at Beaver Crossing, Nebraska and to this union three sons were born, Terry, Tom and Doug. Together they made their home in Friend, Nebraska where she was employed as a bookkeeper at Green Top gas station and for many years at the Farmers Coop Elevator until her retirement in 1971. "Tim" as she was affectionately known by her family and friends was a busy mother and enjoyed raising her family. She was also an active member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and Altar Society in Friend. After her retirement, she and Don moved to York where she became an active member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in York. At the age of 95, Tim wrote a family cookbook, annotated with her stories about the various recipes and ingredients, ranging from her famous original "clam dip" to her delicious "Chicken and Dumplings". The book also included many family photographs. Although she never had formal training, cooking was always something she enjoyed doing and her counter and deep freeze were always full of homemade twists, sweetie pies and kolaches, ready for her family to enjoy. In these golden years of her retirement, she didn't spend as many hours cooking, but instead enjoyed crossword puzzles, listening to country music and following her beloved Chicago Cubs. Her family remembers her as a fantastic cook, the best mother and grandmother anyone ever had. Her feisty spirit and awesome courage make her their true "heroine". She recently moved to the Garden Square assisted living facility in Crete to be near her son, Terry. She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, Terry and Jill Ferguson, Green Valley, AZ, Doug Ferguson, Greeley, CO, five grandchildren, Angela Rodrique, Chad Ferguson, Kristi Ferguson, Ashley Bell, Todd Ferguson, four great-grandchildren, Alecia Zauha, Cole Ferguson, Reese Ferguson and Cash Bell, sister and brother-in-law, Darlene "Pete" and Clyde Richards, Lincoln, daughter-in-law, Sherilyin Marrow, Greeley, CO, several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Wyone was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Don in 1998, her son, Tom in 1963, infant brother, Vonnie Pierce, brother, Bud Pierce in 2012, two sisters, Dollas "Dot" Carlson and Lorayne Henke, brothers-in-law, Harry Carlson and Lyle Henke.
